Win a French property adventure with Propportunities?
Exciting news from Propportunities! We’re finally able to announce very a real Propportunity for someone (or perhaps a couple) ready for a change in direction and seeking something a little different…
-
- Ever wanted to simply up sticks and try a new life somewhere new?
- Ever dreamt of taking on a project abroad, but just not quite ready for such a leap?
- Ever looked back at a trip away and thought “I could live there” ?
If any (or indeed all of the above apply) then why not? What are you waiting for? Perhaps you’re a little risk adverse, or simply not in a position to make that leap and/or commit the funds required to support a somewhat risky new venture? The truth is of course, that there could be a variety of reasons why those dreams have never become a reality, but we also know that, for many, one thing the recent Lock-down has done, is encourage many of us to take stock of our lives and think about what we really want from life.
So when life eventually returns to some kind of normality, whatever that may be, it’s natural that many people will be assessing their lifestyles, including how and where they live and work… and we may just have the solution for you…
The Propportunity
Many will have seen the Channel 4 phenomenon that is ‘Escape to the Chateau’. No doubt loving the show as we do, but occasionally growing a little green with envy as Dick & Angel move between challenges and adventures as they transform their once dilapidated, but now rather grand, pile into a wonderful home and profitable business . How many of us catch ourselves saying “I wish we …” as the credits role at the end of each episode?
Before we get too carried away, I’m afraid we don’t have an 18th century Chateau up for grabs…. sorry. However, many of you will have seen the propportunity in rural France that we featured on propportunities last year. For those not already familiar, we’ve included a link to our ‘Kergroise’ video below, which can also be found on our YouTube Channel, amongst other propportunities, project case studies and property sector guides – simply search “propportunities”.
The property on offer is a spacious 1970’s neo-Breton home, part of a small hamlet set in the beautiful countryside of Morbihan, central Brittany. Despite its rural location, it has good transport links and motorway access to the coast & ferry ports. A lovely four / five bedroom detached house with almost five acres of grounds, there’s certainly scope for improvement and modernisation. Whether that be as a modern country or second home, for use as (increasingly popular) holiday accommodation or even a small rural B&B. There’s also capacity for additional accommodation, both through conversion of the cellar and possibly within the grounds. Scope for better utilising the extensive land may include making use of the ample space to pursue a sustainable living strategy, or creating additional income by forming a lake to meet the ever growing demand for angling in the region?
What’s the deal?
For someone with the right ideas, skills, vision and the time to take the project forward, we’re prepared and eager to support their plans… You’ll be permitted to live at the property rent free for at least a year and (subject to proposals) we’ll also be meeting many of the costs incurred in making those plans a reality. In return, we’re asking for your time and skills but, perhaps most importantly, we’ll be expecting regular updates on progress and your own experiences, to be published on propportunities.
What’s the catch?
There really isn’t one! It’s a great property, but with so many options, we felt the usual quick ‘fix and flip’ wouldn’t do it justice and we genuinely want to follow a longer term plan coming to fruition. We also appreciate that everyone has different circumstances, so we’re not setting any hard & fast rules, terms or conditions at this time. So tell us your plans and your terms; as the old adage says “if you don’t ask…”
How do I apply?
